I hope the summer season is treating you well. Summers make me really happy as I get to eat as much ice cream as I want. Therefore, I was so happy to see the all new and improved GlamEgo box.

ABOUT GLAMEGO:-

Glamego is India’s most affordable subscription box. It is an Indian beauty subscription box. The subscription box contains 4-5 makeup and skin care products. The products can be both full size or deluxe sample sized products.

THIS MONTH’S BOX:-

This month GlamEgo is all about keeping it cool in the summers. It concentrates on skin care during summers. All the products in this month’s box are chosen as summer favorites.

PACKAGING:-

GlamEgo has up their packaging game big time. This month’s box is so cool. It is a cardboard box with a magnetic lock. There is a super cool and quirky purple Ice Cream on a green box. The packaging is definitely much better than the previous boxes.

MY ISLAND KISS LIP MOISTURISER:-

The lip moisturizer I received is Cherry Blossom Flores and it has bunny pink tint. It is a 100% natural, non toxic petroleum free lip balm. It smells of cherry blossoms and is very moisturizing. All the ingredients are organic like topical kokum, mango butter, organic beeswax, carrot seed oil, vit E oil, Natural organic colour, Japanese Cherry Blossoms essential oil. ₹ 399

TJORI ANTI-TAN PACK:-

This is a turmeric face pack mixed with essential oils. It contains the goodness of katuri manjal, with turmeric roots, bentonite clay, natural white clay, fuller earth, essential oils. Turmeric has been used in every Indian household to remove tan therefore I am sure we can all trust this product. ₹ 525

NELF USA COMPACT:-

It’s a pressed powder with SPF 18 which is great for summers. I got the shade 01 which is for fair skin tone. This gives a perfect glowing and bright finish. It also contains Vitamin E for anti- aging. It is also Oil free and ultra light weight. ₹ 350

VEDICLINE GOLD FACIAL KIT:-

It conatins natural ingredients. It comes with 6 different satches which are for different steps of the facial. Contains active ingredients like saffron extract, niacinamide, almond oil, jojoba oil, Vitamin E. This cleanses, exfoliates, nourishes, rejuvenates your skin while giving it a glow. ₹350

NATURAL BATH & BODY GRAPEFRUIT AND VITAMIN C VITAL NOURISHMENT CREAM:-

Natural Bath & Body is one of my favorite skin care brands. This cream is nourishing and contains amazing ingredients. The smell of grapefruit and is so good.

MY OPINION:-

This is such an affordable box. At just ₹ 399/- the value of the box is more than ₹1774/-. We have received amazing quality skincare products and makeup.

Natural Bath & Body is loved by all. The smell of grapefruit is delicious. The cream is of good consistency and I will surly buy the full size cream after finishing off this sample. Island Kiss lip balm is such an internet sensation and I am so excited to try it. I have not tried any of the makeup from NELF and am therefore very excited about it.

Euphorbia box- Review

I love trying out beauty boxes and I am always on a lookout for new and affordable ones.

In the month of October I saw a few of my friends review a new box that was super affordable and with an impressive selection of products in the October box.

So I placed order for the box, they were sold out for the October month and I just got my first box in November.

This blog is to review the Euphorbia box.

Here is a little bit about the box from their website. Euphorbia box is a small, family-owned start-up company. The box is designed to help users explore the world of beauty & skin care products and discover their favorite products in a convenient, effortless and affordable way.

Lets take a look November’s Euphorbia Box-

Packaging-

It is a simple carboard box with Euphorbia box written in blue with the products nicely bubble wrapped inside.

I like the simplicity of the packaging.

Price-

I got this box at the launching price of Rs 199. This months box is now available for Rs 248

Products-

1. Ang-Tatva Kaya Tatva Scrub-off (Rs 345 for 75g)

This herbal scrub looks interesting and I look forward to trying this product, however I am surprised that manufacturing date is not mentioned on this product. It has a very strong scent of turmeric but I don’t mind that.

2. HM Have More Dry Matte Nail Polish (Rs 299)

From the packaging the nail paint does not look very expensive as the print and the bottle looks cheap so I am bit surprised that the product retails for Rs 299. The colour is red and I am not too excited about the product.

3. BioBloom Face Wash (Rs 160 for 30ml)

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting any sample products in the box as there were none in he October box. This sample size product is paraben ans sulphate free which is definitely a good thing but, it is too tiny to impress me.

4. Duft Facial Wipes (Rs 79 for 25wipes)

They are alcohol and paraben free wipes and I can’t complain about them.

5. Mama Earth Sunscreen SPF 20+ (sample size of 7ml)

This was a bummer. This sample size product is for children of age 0-5 years so not useful for me at all. I mean I am sure not all the people ordering this box are people with children so, including this tiny sample as a product is just ridiculous. 

My verdict

At this time I am just scared because I ordered a 3 months subscription and I am dreading the next two month’s boxes. Overall I am disappointed with the selection of products available in the November box especially when I compare it with the impressive product range that were available in the month of October. This month’s box was just boring. It just failed in every aspect possible. I am struggling to call the box average. I hope the curators can make the December box full of surprises.

MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lip Colour- Fashion Legacy- Review and Swatches

Hey Guys,

Sometime back I had posted a picture of me on Instagram and Facebook, my lipstick gained a lot of attention! So I decided to dedicate one post to the much talked about lipstick. The lipstick I am talking about is my go to RED lipstick- MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lip Colour in the shade FASHION LEGACY. Lets take a closer look at the lipstick.

THE PACKAGING:-

The packaging like every MAC product ; very chic. This is a liquid  lipstick therefore it doesn’t come in the signature black capsuled packaging. It comes in a beautiful see through plastic packaging. The cap of the lipstick is the classic black MAC packaging with MAC printed in silver.

PRICE:-

INR 1800

THE APPLICATOR:-

The applicator is attached to this beautiful transparent wand. This sponge applicator is soft. As the applicator wand is short, it helps in precise application.

PIGMENTATION :-

This lipstick is very pigmented. A single swipe is sufficient to cover your lips completely. Amazing pigmentation makes it difficult to get the lipstick off though.

TEXTURE:-

The lipstick is quite thick and creamy, certainly not a lightweight translucent texture. It sets quickly to a totally matte finish.

STAYING POWER:-

Lipstick stays on your lips for as long as you want but it does get dry and starts cracking in around 5 hours. It cracks  up in the middle and the powder starts settling on the borders of your lips. So, you do need to touch it up in every 4-5 hours.

SWATCHES:-

PROS:-

1. Highly pigmented
2. Chic packaging
3. Excellent quality
4. Good staying power
5. Absolutely matte

CONS:-

1. Expensive
2. Needs touching up
3. Starts cracking and drying after a few hours

New Launch – Lakme Absolute Lip Pout Matte Masaba Lips- ORANGE CANDY (Review and Swatches)

Lakme has recently collaborated with Masaba Gupta ( Fashion designer) to launch a new range of Lakme’s classic lip pout collection – Lakme Absolute Lip Pout Matte Masaba Lips. The collection includes 10 matte lipsticks. The collection screams Masaba’s signature with the candy prints and a mix of bright and nude colors. The price of the Lakme Absolute Lip Pout Matte Masaba Lips is Rs.750. The available shades in the collection are:-

1. Cherry Bite
2. Cotton Candy
3. Hot Bubble Pink
4. Hot Chocolate
5. Hot Pink Queen
6. Orange Candy
7. Roll A Cola
8. Smoky Red
9. Sugar n Spice
10. Caramel Toffee

Review And Swatches- ORANGE CANDY

The lipsticks shades are all very bright and attractive, so it was very hard to choose a shade. I wanted to try the texture of the lipstick before buying them all, therefore I ended up buying Orange Candy.

Packaging:-

The packaging is very bright, funky and attractive. The lipstick crayon comes in a plastic tube with a rotating retractor. 

Colour:-

As the name suggests Orange Candy is a bright ORANGE shade. 

Texture:-

The lipstick is named Lakme Absolute Lip Pouts Matte Masaba Lips but this is absolutely MISLEADING. The lipsticks are NOT matte, its more of a creme lipstick. It is also not waterproof or smudge-proof.

My Opinion:-

I wasn’t paid to write this review and its a totally honest opinion. It is very disappointing to see big brands collaborating with famous designers creating these highly advertised collections which are just lies and false claims. If I am paying 750 Rs for a matte lipstick, I expect to get a matte lipstick. This is a creme lipstick not a matte one. Also it doesn’t last that long and gets smudged easily.

Pros:-

• Nice Pacakging
• Easily available
• Available in vibrant 10 shades
• Available in a easy rotating retractable tube

Cons:-

• Not matte
• Not waterproof
• Not smudge-proof
• Not long lasting
• expensive
• smells weird
• Falsely advertised

To conclude I would like to say I am very much disappointed in the promotion campaign of the product and the product itself. It is not right for big brands to falsely advertise their products.

JUVIA’S PLACE ‘THE SAHARAN’ PALETTE: REVIEWS AND SWATCHES

Hello everyone,

Today I am going to talk about Juvia’s place ‘The Saharan’ Palette. It was launched last year and is priced at $28.00. 

ABOUT THE PALETTE and INGREDIENTS:-

THE PACKAGING:-

The Packaging is a lot similar to the other Juvia’s Place palettes. It’s a cardboard palette with pans of eye-shadows spread out within it. The front of the palette is red in color with mint trims.

THE INSPIRATION:-

The vibrant and lively shades are inspired by the Wodaabe festivities of the Fulani culture. At the end of September the Wodaabe people gather together and the young men dress up in elaborate costumes and makeup and perform songs and dances to impress the marriageable women.

THE SHADES:-

The amount of product in the palette is 18g/ .63oz. This palette contains 12 eye-shadows; 6 Metallic shades, 2 Satin shades and 4 Matte shades. 

MY EXPERIENCE:-

I just fell in love with the palette. Its beautiful!! All the shades are extremely pigmented. The matte Shades (Chad, Sokoto, Jamila and Katsina) are very smooth and not at all chalky.

The Metallic shades (Fula, Senegal, Kia, Wodaabe, Bororo, Iman) are breathtaking and very shimmery.

The Satin shades (Lulu, Zoya) are silky and had very little amount of fall outs.

I created this look using the shades Chad, Sokoto, Bororo, Wadaabe and Zoya.

MY VERDICT:-

I would recommend everyone to invest in this palette. This is a beauty and a must have. Some of the shades like Katsina and Zoya are not that visible on Indian skin tone but the other matte and metallic foils are just amazing. The formula is one of the best on the market, with all shades being very buttery and highly pigmented. on the top of all this, I think the palette is very decently priced.

April favorites :)

Hello Everyone,

I am enjoying the sh*t out of summers. Chuski, swimming, ice-creams, mangoes and watermelons… I am just loving it all. Enough said about the season’s favorites, 😛 lets get talking about my favorite skin care and makeup products for the month of April.

1. NYX Full Throttle Shadow Palette- Bossy :-

NYX has 4 shades available in the Full Throttle Shadow Palette, but Bossy is my favorite. It contains four pigment-packed shadows in the tones of pink and purple. These palettes are small and compact therefore very easy to travel with. They are super pigmented and you can create multiple looks with it.

I like to create a purple cut crease with a pink gradation on my lids.  It  looks great and is definitely eye catchy. The safe bet is that we can never doubt the quality and packaging of NYX products.

2. PAC Cosmetics Eyelashes :-

PAC Cosmetics is one drugstore brand that has managed to impress me the most. There prices, quality and packaging are great. They are also easily accessible. I have loved their brushes,  makeup blending sponges and mascaras. Lashes are the most recent of my purchases from PAC and well, they are damn good.

Priced at just Rs 165 they are the most affordable lashes ever. They have a huge range of falseies to choose from. With these lashes you are set for any possible makeup look.

3. Smytten:-

Smytten is a website where in you can buy and try beauty and makeup products from the best premium brands in India. I have been using the smytten app since a long time. Over the period of time they have sent me many samples and I have shopped a great deal of stuff from them.

The reason smytten is making it in my favorites this month is because of gorgeous offers they had during their Easter sale. The offers were great and I ended up saving a ton of  money. Another great thing is that after every shopping I get many samples 🙂 As they say it I am smytten by this application.

4. Colourpop Ultra Matte Lipstick in the shade Embellish:-

I am all about dark vampy shades of lipstick these days and we can all trust the quality of colourpop lipsticks. The shade EMBELLISH is a beautiful dark brown shade. It looks great when paired with neutral eyes.

5. Batiste Dry Shampoo:-

Summers are accompanied by a lot of sweating. With the routines we follow its practically impossible to wash our hair daily. Also the scorching sun results in the release of loads of natural oil and sweat.

The travel size Batiste Dry shampoo bottles have been my savior. I keep one in my purse and whenever I feel a lot of oil in my hair, I just spray  it on. The dry shampoo works extremely well and the best product invented for a lazy chic like me 😛

6. Spawake Moisture Fresh BB Cream:-

Spawake is a brand that offers a range of skin care products which are developed from natural sea weeds. I recently tried their Spawake Moisture Fresh BB Cream Natural Glow. It is made from a sea mineral moisture formula with a delightfully lightweight texture. It spreads smoothly over skin. BB Cream contains SPF 25/PA++ that corrects your skin tone.

I hope you will give these products a try. I am telling you, they are worth your time, effort and money.

MARCH FAVOURITES 2017!!

With the temperatures rising suddenly, march turned out to be the most uncomfortable month ever. But there are a few good things that came out of the month of march. Skin care and makeup excites me and I love sharing my passion with you guys.

Here are a few of the products that I really enjoyed this month. I hope you will try these too and share your thoughts with me.

1. LANCOME Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate:-

As soon as we girls hit our mid twenties, the anti aging battle begins. When it comes to high end brands, LANCOME has always been my favourite. I trust their products and have never been afraid to try them. Advanced Genifique boosts signs of youthfulness and helps skin’s recovery during the day and night.

the serum is suitable for all skin types for women of multiple ethnicities and ages. I have been using the concentrate for about an year now and have absolutely been loving it. It is expensive (Rs 5,982.39/- for 30 ml) but worth every penny.

To  read a complete review of this product click here.2. Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman, Bold Metals Collection, Essentials Brush Kit, 3 Brushes set:-

Everyone is aware that Real Techniques makes the best affordable makeup tools. Their Bold Metals collection is amazing. The synthetic bristles are super soft and compactly packed, they look great and do an amazing job.

The bold collection is quite expensive as compared to the other makeup brushes by Real Techniques Sam and Nic collection but trust me, they are worth stretching your wallet a little bit more. They  look beautiful  and do a great job of making you look beautiful 🙂

3. Rimmel London Lasting Finish By Kate Moss- shade 30:-

For their price these lipsticks really surprised me. The KateXRimmel collection is just what we all love. Its affordable, the packaging is chic and the quality is amazing.

I love berry shades so it will not come as a surprise when I  say my favourite LAsting Finish lipstick By Kate is the shade 30. Its a deep berry shade with glossy finish. The lipstick lasts for a good 7-8  hours without you having to touch up and is prices at just Rs275.

They are also easily available in India on Nykaa.

4. Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation:-

This is my  favourite foundation ever. I  have used many high end foundations but The Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation is just what I always go back to. If you have this, you do not have to spend all that extra cash for flawless coverage.

Priced at just around Rs 700 for 30 ml of product, this is a medium coverage foundation is just the best. It comes with SPF 20 for sun protection. If you wear makeup daily I would seriously urge you to try this affordable but amazing product.

5. Aryanveda Anti Wrinkle Gel Treatment Pen:-

I bought this product from the Nykaa Christmas sale and have been using it since then. I must say that Aryanveda is one skincare brand that I have really grown fond of. I have tried 6 different products from Aryanveda and have loved each and everyone of them.

With the stressful life and unhealthy diet it is quite easy to for your skin to age faster than you. On one of my skin care examinations my Skin care specialist pointed out the wrinkles being formed around my eyes. Well that wasn’t easy to see and was sad to notice how badly I had been ignoring my skin.

After using the Anti Wrinkle Gel  by Aryanveda for 4 months, I can confidently say that it does work. It has tightened the skin around my eyes and mouth and buying it is also not am hassle.

It is  priced at Rs 250 on Nykaa.

6. Maybelline COLORsensational Lip Liner:-

The Maybelline COLORsensational Lip Liner was an impulse buy as I was just looking for a nude lip liner. This lip liner helps keep your lipstick in place and prevents it from smudging. It contains a bit of glitter and i don’t usually like glitter on my lips but the shade 150 STELLAR PINK looks quite stunning with a bit of glitter.

The shade is nude so it looks can easily be covered up with any other lip color.

7. TONI & GUY heat protection mist:-

I hate boring and the thing that is capable of getting boring the fastest is you hair. I try a lot of new hairstyles and most of them require me using hair styling tools. Constant exposure to heat can take a heavy toll on the quality of your hair, so heat protection is a must.

Toni & Guy launched their hair products after their success in the salon business. Their heat protection mist is my most used product followed by their textured sea salt spray. The 150 ml spray bottle comes with very attractive packaging. The locking mechanism is super cool and helps the liquid from spilling out.

February favourites 2017

Hey Everyone,

Its the beginning of a new month, that means its time for me to share my absolute favourite products of the previous month 🙂

February was a month of new launches. A lot of brands released some amazing products. So, makeup and skin care departments is stocked with a great deal of stuff to try on.

The best thing about all the products mentioned below is that they are very affordable and easily available.

1.PAC Cosmetics Big Eyes Magical Mascara :-

This dual wand mascara has become my current obsession. I am addicted to it. The mascara comes with 2 wands on its either ends. One is a normal thick wand, which is resembles the Too Faced Better than Sex mascara. The other wand is a thin and perfect for your lower lash line.

Its great to see these Indian brands coming up with such good quality and affordable makeup. PAC cosmetics has really surprised me their recent launches and I am looking forward to try them all.

2. Pins and Patches from Ginger:-

In my previous blog post I talked about the recent trend of pins, patches, badges and brooches. Lifestyle stores included many sets of pins and patches in their latest collection and of course a bought quite a few of them. 🙂

These pins are marked at the price of Rs 199 for a set of three. Its always cool to mix and match them to create your own style and who does not want to stay on trend.

3. Kama Ayurveda Pure Rose water:-

I have been using this skin care delight for a few months now.  Rose water is the best natural toner known to mankind. Kama Ayurveda very cleverly have taken advantage of this fact and placed some distilled rose water in a spray on bottle.

Another great thing about this product is that it comes in a travel size bottle. Whenever you feel fatigued just spray on some rose water and you will feel refreshed instantly. Trust me guys, I have tried it and it works. I also mix it with my face pack for great results.

4. L.A girl Pro conceal HD high definition concealer:-

OH MY GOD. This is  the best concealer ever. This is not one of those hyped products that turn out to be good for nothing. All the beauty gurus swear about it.

This concealer has a brush at the end which makes the application and blending very easy.  It is Crease-resistant, has opaque coverage in a creamy yet lightweight texture.

The best part about it is that its easy available on Nykaa and amazon and is very affordable.

5. B Blunt High Definition Curl Defining Leave-In Cream :-

Curling my hair have always been a problem for me. My hair were always a frizzy mess and the curls never stayed in place. The B Blunt Curl leave-in cream changed it all. It enhances curls & waves and also tames frizz.

The very cute pink bottle with a pump just makes things more attractive and convenient. I have been using this leave-in for the last 2 weeks. The nozzle has a lock system, so it’s travel friendly and does not release a lot of product.

6. NYX Extra Creamy Round Lipstick in the shade BLACK CHERRY:-

I remember those times when dark red shades were only for grannies. Now, berries are the bold new thing. This NYX extra creamy lipstick has become my go to favourite. The lipstick lasts for around 12 hours and the formulation is super creamy.

January Favourites 2017!!

Hey Guys,

I know most of us have already screwed up our new year resolutions. If you haven’t three cheers to you 🙂 My two resolutions were to gain some weight and travel a lot more. Lets just say I have managed to loose a few pounds and have not even stepped into my balcony. So ya, I have failed big time.

Lets talk about the good things that I have discovered and come to love this new year. Here are my January Favourites.

1. Bath and Body Works French Lavender And Honey Body wash:-

This Body wash is simply divine. It contains Shea Butter, Vitamin C and Aloe Vera.

It provides luxuriously rich lather.

This amazing product from Bath and Body works leaves my skin feeling irresistably soft and beautifully fragranced.

2. The Body Shop Vitamin E Hydrating Toner:-

This is my favourite toner so far. It is alcohol free toner with shots of vitamin E protection.

It is a clear, odorless liquid and is suitable for all skin types.

The bottle is of 200 ml and will last you for a good 4-5 months.

3. Combat Boots:-

All the girls will totally get me when I say that I am crazy about shoes. My mom thinks I have some kind of a weird addiction because I cannot stop buying them :p

These Combat Boots are my fashion favourite for this month. They go with almost all of my outfits, plus they are so warm 🙂

They are a great buy as they are super stylish and super comfy.

4. Maybelline Hyper Glossy Liquid eyeliner in shade ELECTRO SHOCK:-

I am that person who would not walk out of her house without an eyeliner on. Hell, I sometimes apply dramatic cat eye liner and roll at home in my pajamas.

But coloured eyeliners was a territory I was always afraid to step in. This Electric blue eyeliner has stolen my heart. I love it to bits.

The formula is so nice that I ended up picking up the same eyeliner in 2 more shades. Looking forward to try them on.

5. Colourpop Cosmetics Blush in the shade Never Been Kissed:-

Colourpop is a brand that you will totally get addicted to. I bought quite a few products from colourpop and after using them I am hooked to their website.

This Super Shock Cheeks blush is a light pink shade with orange undertones. Its perfect for fair skin tone.

From the name of the product (Never Been Kissed) to the packaging everything is just so quirky, fun and addictive.

6.  Colourpop Cosmetics Lippie Stix in the shade Leather:-

Its a no brainer that another colourpop product has made it to my favourites list.

This matte lip stick is dark purple in colour, Matte in finish and looks gorgeous.

I find the Lippie stix by colourpop to be the greatest idea ever. The packaging is just so perfect. The design of the bullet is on point (I can apply the lipstick without a mirror).

The shade Leather is a major beauty trend right now and let me tell you girlfriends, I am totally killing it 😉

7. Fresho! Signature Dehydrated Candid fruit (Fruit and Nuts):-

Its time for the snacks. Sleeping and munching are two things I do the best. I am so good at these two activities that instead of calling them hobbies I consider them my talents.

I work late into the night and was always snacking on unhealthy but very tasty stuff like potato chips, chocolates, ice creams and Cheetos. I bought this packet of dehydrated nuts and fruits to start snacking healthy and I am hooked.

They are yummy and healthy. To be honest  I do fish out the apricots and the cranberries but that is the way we humans behave 😀
